The name of the vessel is Pegasus.

Pegasus is a US-registered vessel. The registration is up to date. She is on a mooring ball in Mazatlan, Mexico with years left on the Temporary Import Permit.

The thing to learn about Pegasus is she is a very special kind of Hudson Force 50. She is the much sought-after VENICE design.

Moreover, the vessel registration reads 1987 which means Pegasus is one of the very last of her kind.

Finished properly, comparable vessels start at around $150k to $180k USD.

The prior owners of Pegasus spent a few hundred thousand dollars on the vessel including improvements, such as a bow thruster, new Harkin tracks, and a Proful furler.
Very unfortunately, though, the prior owner’s mooring ball wasn’t the heavy one it is now.

During hurricane-force winds, about 5 months ago, Pegasus lodged sideways against a cement dock. The cap rail was compromised, and she took on water. Enough to damage all of the electronics and deposit silt throughout the interior.

Very luckily, though, neither the deck, hull, rudder, or prop were compromised. In fact, the standing rigging is still standing, the interior is intact, the teak throughout is remarkable, and great sails even come included.

In short, it is a cleanup job. Elbow grease, electrical re-runs, appliance purchases and cushion replacements. An unbelievable amount of good bones for the price.

So, we took it on. We are seasoned professionals having fun on a project of value. We are getting Pegasus refurbished to her prior splendor throughout.

We are fill-time liveaboarders on similar-sized liveaboard vessels, namely a Formosa 51 and a Cooper Maple Leaf 48. This means Pegasus also needs to go to a new owner at some point on our project path. Preferably before we ourselves pick up and move again.
